Also known as silicon steel sheet, it is a soft magnetic alloy of iron and silicon with extremely low carbon content and a silicon content between 0.5% and 4.5%. Based on the internal grain arrangement direction and magnetic anisotropy, it is mainly divided into two categories: non-oriented electrical steel and oriented electrical steel. The former has a disordered grain distribution and uniform magnetic properties in all directions, mainly used for manufacturing various motor cores; the latter has grains arranged neatly along the rolling direction, exhibiting excellent magnetic properties in specific directions, mainly used for manufacturing transformer cores. It is one of the important indicators for measuring a country's level of special steel production and technological development.
