High-Strength Steel Test Technical Description

Applicable Steel Materials

The core materials applicable to these test are automotive high-strength steels, including low-alloy high-strength steel, bake-hardening high-strength steel, and dual-phase high-strength steel, including cold-rolled and galvanized high-strength steel series. Tailored for structural load-bearing and exterior panel working conditions, these materials feature far higher overall strength and rigidity than ordinary low-carbon steel sheets.

Product Characteristics

High Strength Range: The yield strength is generally ≥340MPa, and the tensile strength ranges from 500MPa to over 2400MPa. Among them, Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS) such as hot-forming steel and QP steel can reach a tensile strength of 1500–2400MPa.

Strength and Toughness Matching: By regulating microstructures (e.g., composite structure of martensite and retained austenite), the steel maintains favorable elongation (the elongation of partial TRIP/QP steel exceeds 15%) and fracture toughness while enhancing strength.

High Work Hardening Rate: Continuous hardening occurs during deformation due to phase transformation (TRIP effect) or dislocation accumulation, which delays necking, and improves energy absorption efficiency and forming limit.

Low Yield-to-Tensile Ratio (Partial Grades): Dual-phase steel features a low yield-to-tensile ratio, which benefits stamping forming; ultra-high strength steel presents a relatively high yield-to-tensile ratio, focusing on load-bearing efficiency.

Constant Density and High Specific Strength: It has a density similar to that of ordinary steel (≈7.85g/cm³). The wall thickness can be reduced thanks to its high strength, achieving a structural weight reduction of 10%–30%.

Main Application Fields

Automotive Industry (Largest Application Proportion)

Automotive Industry (Largest Application Proportion)

Applied to body A/B pillars, rocker beams, crash beams, battery pack housings and chassis components. It achieves an optimal balance of crash energy absorption and passenger cabin protection, while reducing vehicle weight and improving driving range. High-strength steel accounts for 40% to 50% of the material usage in new energy vehicles.

Agricultural Machinery Industry

Agricultural Machinery Industry

High-strength steel is a preferred material for modern agricultural equipment working under harsh and heavy-load conditions. It is widely used in core components such as tillage parts, harvester structural frames, equipment chassis and load-bearing brackets. With outstanding strength, wear resistance and fatigue resistance, it effectively extends the service life of agricultural machinery. Meanwhile, lightweight structural design reduces soil compaction and improves the overall operating stability and working efficiency of field equipment.

Technical Advantages

Dent Resistance Test

01

Anti-denting property is one of the important properties of the steel used for automotive body panels.

It prevents vehicle body surfaces from denting upon impact with foreign objects.

At the same thickness, the higher the tensile strength of the steel sheet, the better its resistance to denting deformation.

Vibration Resistance Test

02

How to enhance chassis durability against rough road conditions?
The adoption of high-strength steel improves the chassis' resistance to torsion, vibration and road impact, and effectively upgrades overall chassis performance.

Crash Test

03

Do you know?   Cars that meet the European five-star crash safety standards use high-strength steel and ultra-high-strength steel in a proportion of over 70% for the body structure, significantly enhancing the safety of the passenger compartment.

Stability Test

04

Each car seat is a delicate work of art.
It can be freely adjusted and provides stable driving conditions, ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers.
The high-strength steel seat components have the characteristics of being lighter, stronger and more durable.
Significantly enhance the quality of the seats and increase their fatigue resistance!

Fuel Consumption Test

05

Under no-load conditions, approximately 75% of fuel consumption is attributed to vehicle body weight.
From the perspective of long-term development, high-strength steel has been proven to be the most economically viable material for achieving lightweighting in automobiles.
While ensuring driving safety, high-strength steel materials can effectively reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, adding a touch of green to our living environment.
